I’ve been thinking about my grandparents a lot lately. All four lived in same small town as I was growing up. And our family used to to go up there at least twice a year. I loved to go up there and be spoiled. My memories of those times were that they were fun times, times to read a lot, watching tv, doing a lot of visiting and good eating. We called Dad’s dad Grandaddy..

xGrandaddy loved watching all the old cartoons, and loved watched sports. He was someone who liked to tease. I think he enjoyed having us around. His wife was my Granny, now I know she loved having us around. She loved to cook these huge meals, and she loved seeing us eat. More importantly, Granny loved the Lord. She loved her church. She loved giving. Mom’s dad was Grandpa, and he loved taking us places. We’d go to the park. We’d go to the library. Sometimes he’d take us to the movies.. He also liked taking us out to eat. I think he was proudest when we went to church.. And my Grandma loved being home. She was the one to help me turn pages so I could read. We’d play cards or watch tv. I loved staying by myself with her and Grandpa. A lot of times she would fix whatever I wanted to eat.. They’ve all passed on now, and I miss them.

Think I’ll share some things about me.

  • I loved getting a computer. Having a computer has allowed me to do more and more through the years. The highlights of that would be communicating with people and being able to read by myself.
  • I love work, but I have always loved Sundays. It’s always nice to get out of the house and to church. Doing something with friends after church is what I like best. I love times I’m with my family. I’m the oldest of eight, and right now I have eight nieces and nephews. Think there will be more before everything is said and done.
  • I’m not great with change, never really liked moving. But looking back, it has enabled us to make so many more friends

my perfect day is to get everything I want done for the day, and then try to either listen to a book, or even better, watch something. I hardly ever watch tv. I have lots of movies we have collected over the years. But we’re always on the look out for new movies or sometimes tv series we can enjoy in the evenings. Some of my favorite tv series we have seen over the years are Downton Abbey, I love Call the Midwife [I’ve not finished the series]. I love When Calls the Heart. We’ve almost finished with the second season of The Crown, I haven’t read much about the Royal family. I’m starting to learn more.. It’s Saturday night, and I’m really tired, so I am going to stop.

Summer has been somewhat crazy, as you may have guessed from my lack of posting.apologize for the quiet. But it has also been a lot of fun. One of the things I enjoyed most was going to camp. I did not think I was going to camp this year. The friend I usually stay with was not going this year. Mom completely surprised me when we drove up to camp this year. Mom had a friend she was needing to spend some time with, so we worked it out that Mom would be there to do my night and morning routines, and then an aide I had known from other years would help me with everything through the day. I think the biggest thing for me was just being around friends. So much of my time is spent by myself in my room. I loved being able to have a lot of time where I was around friends.. This was a camp for the disabled, and there was this one lady that I hung out with a lot. We ended up eating most of our meals together, and we would also sit together during morning chapel. I have also got to spend sometime with my family here and there, a couple of different times lately which has been nice.
