A gala celebrating life

October 23, 2015

This has not been a normal week at all for me. We went out of town. And for different reasons I wasn’t able to get online. We got home Wednesday afternoon, and I worked some that afternoon and evening. I got pretty much done yesterday during that day. But yesterday evening was the gala for our local pregnancy center.

Our Center here is called Sound Choices. They have just purchased a mobile clinic. And they’re now negotiating a place where they can be pretty near where abortions take place… I went with my parents, and there were three other ladies from our church at our table.

Sound Choices has helped many women make the right decisions for themselves and their babies. They have a gala every other year, and I think they’ve helped around six hundred women over the past two years.

I’ve gone to several of these dinners, and they have a Christian ccomedian come speak. I really enjoyed last night’s speaker.. One of the things that impressed me was that people seemed to be so important to him.. It was truly a special evening.

I am pro-life

November 8, 2011

first, I need to say that we are going out of town once again, leaving tomorrow and returning Friday evening. I may or may not get to writing my second post on Saturday. We’ll see what’s going on.

To be perfectly honest, traveling all the time has made it difficult for me to be motivated to get things done. I’m not even keeping up with reading e-mail, much less looking for paying work or more publishing opportunities.

However, when we are home, I do write. The novel I’m working on, as several of my started novels, have to do with the pro-life movement. I am passionately pro-life, no question of that. I would love to have a family of my own. But I’m also pro-life because I believe that this is a slippery slope that we’re on. If we can kill babies on a whim, and we do, what happens when old people get too old to care for themselves? But we’re already starting on that path. And sadly, the next people that society will start seeing as expendable is the disabled. Why should society pay for people who produce nothing?

Anyway, I’m having to research on topics like this. It would be so nice if I could stay home by myself and work on this.. But I do have to do this little thing called eating.. But, anyway…

40 days for life

September 27, 2011

I had an absolutely incredible weekend at our church’s women’s retreat. It was an awesome time.

However, tomorrow is the start of an event that I’m sure I’ll be hearing more about. 40 day for life starts a campaign tomorrow. What is that, you might ask? A 40 days for life campaign is a focused time of prayer and fasting at abortion clinics.

This is not the first campaign, but may be the first time Columbus has participated. My family is going to be pretty involved in this campaign, and we’re working on getting our church involved as well. It is going to be an interesting adventure for sure.

FOCA

November 10, 2008

I wrote about the children Thursday, and Thursday evening I got an e-mail about a petition to help stop Obama’s plans for abortion. Please go tohttp://www.fightfoca.com/ and sign this petition if you care are about life.

I find the video of a speech he made most disturbing. He says he’s tired of the culture wars, saying they should be a thing of the past. But I, for one, am determined to fight this thing. You will find the video on the right of FOCA’s website.

I think this is pretty scary stuff. Please help us. Thanks
